Отношение, которое определяет выбор потребителем товаров или услуг. Когда один товар, предпочтительнее другого, то в условиях свободной рыночной экономики вкусы потребителей в сочетании с ценами на товары влияют на распределение потребительских расходов между существующими альтернативами. Таким образом, распределение ограниченного количества ресурсов между производством различных товаров будет зависеть от характера производства, цен на факторы производства, а также от вкусов потребителей и от того, какому товару они оказывают предпочтение.
